SERVICES

When you are suffering from an unexpected illness or injury, when you require a general surgical attention, or when you require a second opinion, you are just in the correct place.

You can be assured – I have a commitment to excellence when it comes to the level of care I provide

General surgery deals with:

  • Surgical problems of the digestive tube from the mouth till the anus.

  • Salivary Glands.

  • All types of hernias.

  • Swellings in any part of the body.

  • Ulcers.

General surgery
Endocrine surgery

This subspeciality of general surgery deals with diseases of the endocrine glands in the body.

These glands are the Thyroid gland,  which is situated in the front of the neck and secrets the hormones responsible for supplying energy to the body.

The Parathyroid glands which are responsible for maintaining the calcium level in the blood.

The Supra-renal glands which are situated above the kidneys and are responsible for secreting hormones necessary for regulating blood pressure and salt level in blood.

The pancreas which is present in the abdomen and is responsible in part for the digestion of food and in the other part for the regulation of sugar level in the blood.

The philosophy of laparoscopic surgery is to perform the same surgical procedure through small holes.

The medical impact is to decrease nearly to abolish internal derangement of the body systems.

The impact on the patient is diminished postoperative pain, decreased hospital stay, rapid recovery and early return to work.

since 1988, when laparoscopy started to gain popularity, several procedures had been tried with variable degrees of success.

Laparoscopy has now been approved as the standard of care for:

  • gall bladder.

  • obesity surgery.

  • hiatus hernia.

  • Appendectomy in females or in obese.

  • Splenectomy.

  • Supra renal-gland.

  • Staging of abdominal tumors.

  • Exploration in certain acute conditions and in some trauma cases

Breast surgery

Most of the breast problems require surgical consultations but not necessarily surgical intervention.

The most worrisome breast problem in female is cancer breast which affects around one in every ten females. Early detection programs aim at detecting it in its early stage to increase the percentage of cure and detect familial disease.

Plastic and aesthetic procedure are better dealt with by plastic surgeon.

Anal problems vary in its presentation  from mild discomfort to severe intolerable pain, from minimal discharge to complete incontinence and from minimal swelling to complete prolapse.

Anal conditions, if not thoroughly examined and adequately managed, can miss an underlying tumors and can have serious sequel which may be difficult to manage.

Anal operations had a very bad reputation of severe and prolonged postoperative pain. New surgical Techniques are nearly painless as the stapled hemorrhoidopexy using staplers for treating hemorrhoids (piles).

Emergency constitute a major part of the general surgical practice. It includes:

  • Complicated hernias, which become extremely painful.

  • Intestinal obstruction which is inability to pass gases nor stools and accompanied with vomiting.

  • Appendicitis which presents with pain in the right lower part of the abdomen.

  • Peritonitis which is inflammation of the lining of the abdomen and presents with severe abdominal pain.

  • Bleeding.

  • Traumas.

  • abscess

Postoperative Complication Management

There is no surgery without complications, and if a surgeon denies having complications, he has never operated.

My personal belief and my attitude in my practice is that it is better to take a second opinion in a complicated case.

Second Opinion

When it comes to a major decision, as surgical intervention, a second or even a third opinion is preferable.

Researches in medicine and of course in surgery are available everyday, with changes in decisions and guidelines.
